π Hello
Hi everyone~ π
Itβs already halfway through 2025βtime flies!
Have you been eating well and taking care of yourselves?
β¦Wait, why am I suddenly asking if youβve eaten? π
Well, in Korea, this is actually a super common way to say hello.
Instead of asking βHow are you?β, people might say:
βDid you eat?β (βλ°₯ λ¨Ήμμ΄μ?β)
π€ Are they really asking about food?
A lot of Korean learners get confused at first.
βHuh? Why are they asking if Iβve eaten?β
βI havenβt… what should I say?β
But hereβs the thing β
theyβre not really asking about your meal.
Itβs just a polite, friendly greeting,
kind of like saying βHow are you?β in English.
So donβt worry about giving a full answer.
You can just smile and say something like,
βYes, yes~β and move on π
